anyone know of any paypal or ebay coupon codes for july 2008?Paypal/ebay JULY 2008 coupons?

I contacted ebay and the represntative asked me to contact Paypal. I asked Paypal by email, and got this reply:





';In review of your account, it appears that you are not eligible for the coupon code you attempted to redeem. We understand this code may have been shared on a website for general public use; however, this code was not intended for everyone but for qualified users only. Therefore, we can't activate this coupon for you, or issue a credit to your account. When you checked-out on eBay, it may have appeared that this code provided you with a specific discount, but since you did not qualify forthe coupon, (or it only applied to one item) the amount was corrected when you completed the payment with PayPal.';





So I guess this cJUly0810P code only works for those who received the email. And I don't think 0810P means 10 pm, It may be July 2008, 10 percent.
I'm note sue why everybody thinks that this will be active today. The 08 does not refer to the DAY, but rather the YEAR.





Also, it will not be 20% off, it will be 10% off. The codes can be read as follows:





C_JULY_08_10P





C means it is a coupon.


JULY is the Month of the offer.


08 is the year of the offer.


10P means it will be 10 percent.





Sometimes they will re-issue a coupon and add a ';B'; to the end.





If you compare these to past codes, it all makes sense. I have received these for March, April, and May and the series always works. Also, I have usually received toward the end of the month... AND I have tried to use them from different eBay accounts only to get an error telling me that the account I am using is not eligible for the code.





My suggestion: go ahead and make your purchase. The code may not get activated anytime soon, and it may only be for invited accounts.

I just got off the phone with Ebay support. The guy said that to use this code it had to be sent to your ebay inbox. When asked how to be see how one gets on the list to recieve such coupons the rep said that the selection is done at random and has nothing to do with account activity. So unfortunately... I have a feeling that if you did not recieve an email saying you were able to use the coupon code, it will not work for you. Sorry guys. This totally would have helped me out too, and I feel bad for making my sellers wait so long for payment.

I called Pay Pal and they said that code was not activateed for my account. They told me to contact eBay about it, and through live help on eBay's page, the rep told me it wasn't a problem on my end, and they gave me a link to email eBay for a new code and they would send me one. That's bout all I got folks. The CJULY0810p isn't working for me as of 12:45p eastern.

Paypal is based of eastern time so when their offices open up at 8AM could be when the coupon will work or within an hour of them opening their offices. (just a thought since I know ebay is also based off PST) I too am waiting for this coupon to become active.
